IPL 2020: Virat Kohli changes his Twitter name, here's how social-media reacted

Synopsis

Virat Kohli has been leading Royal Challengers Bangalore since 2013, but is yet to steer the side to its maiden Indian Premier League title. Meanwhile, RCB have always associated themselves with a number of social causes. They are currently supporting COVID-19 social workers.

Virat Kohli is not just a gentleman when it comes to cricket, but is also laudable for his social works, including charity. Furthermore, being associated with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), it has made him even prominent in this field.

This season, RCB are doing a social campaign, namely #MyCOVIDHeros, where the side is honouring the social workers, who are risking their lives during the raging pandemic to help everyone, amidst hard times, besides being careful regarding their safety and well-being, along with their loved ones.

On the same note, Kohli had changed his Twitter name to Simranjeet Singh, as a part of RCB's ongoing campaign to honour the social worker. Although fans were baffled as to what it exactly meant, while some even wondered that if his account was hacked, they soon realised the cause.
