On Sunday, Rajasthan Royals (RR) locked horns with Mumbai Indians (MI) in Abu Dhabi. While RR won the match by eight wickets, it was Hardik Pandya, the star allrounder from MI, who not just hogged the limelight because of his scintillating knock but because of his gesture to support Black Lives.
Hardik Pandya hit a ravishing knock of 60 runs from 21 balls where he smashed seven sixes and two fours. In his innings, he took to his knee in support of Black lives matter.
This was the first time where spectators witnessed that a player had taken a knee in support as a gesture of protest, especially against racial injustice during the ongoing IPL in UAE.
Post-match he Tweeted “#BlackLivesMatter '' on his social media handle. He posted his picture along as well.
