Bumrah, who has taken 32 wickets in the ongoing series, had earlier dismissed Marnus Labuschagne in the morning session, finishing with impressive figures of 2/33 from 10 overs. However, after his brief post-lunch spell, the 29-year-old fast bowler was seen communicating with captain Virat Kohli, before walking off the field visibly discomforted.

Soon after, the official broadcasters showed Bumrah leaving the venue accompanied by the team’s security liaison officer, Anshuman Upadhyay, and the team doctor. The Fox Sports cameras captured his departure from the stadium in an SUV, confirming the seriousness of the situation.

As of now, Virat Kohli is leading the Indian side in Bumrah’s absence. The team is awaiting further updates on the bowler's condition, with hopes that it is not a major injury.
