A treat for tennis fans is coming soon in the form of the Laver Cup, where Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will team up and take the atmosphere at the Czech Republic's O2 Arena to an entirely different level. The Laver Cup is inspired from golf's Ryder-Cup, where two teams, European and Rest of the World will compete.

The European team will be led by Bjorn Borg, while the American legend John McEnroe will captain the opponents. A delighted Federer did not hesitate in expressing  his excitement about "finally being on the same side of the net as Nadal."

" It's going to be unbelievable to be on the same side of the net as Rafa finally. It's a great feeling not facing the big forehand," the Swiss great said.

The 17 Grand Slams holder also appreciated the concept of  Laver Cup, saying, " I see this as a no-brainer. Why not spend an interesting, cool, fun weekend with all the best players in the world?"

Along with Nadal and Federer, the European team will also feature the other stars like Novak Djokovic and Olympic champion Andy Murray, and the Rest of the World side will have the likes of Argentine Juan Martin del Potro and Canadian Milos Raonic.

The premier edition of the Laver Cup will be played between September 22 and 24 next year. The future editions of this tournament will be played across major cities of the world.

Each team will have six players each - two of the players will be given the captain's role and others will fill the remaining slots according to their ATP ranking.
