As the tension between the BJP and CPM escalates in Kerala with leaders publicly calling out for blood, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan faced the heat of the saffron protests at New Delhi and returned home by cutting short his visit on Tuesday.

The RSS-BJP workers staged a sit-in at Jantar Mantar to protest the murder of their workers allegedly perpetrated by the CPM.

Meanwhile, the BJP-RSS leaders alleged that they had sought an appointment with the Kerala CM to explore possibilities to end violence, but Vijayan chose to flee New Delhi without facing them.

This is not the first time the CM faced protests RSS-BJP protests outside Kerala. On 10 December 2016, VHP-Bajrang Dal workers protested against violence meted out towards its workers outside the hall in Bhopal where Vijayan was scheduled to address a Malayalee crowd. Madhya Pradesh Police requested the Chief Minister to cancel the programme and return.
