Bengaluru: Second metro train with six bogeys opened for public use from today
In the first phase Bharat Earth Movers Ltd (BEML) had handed over three-bogeys to Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) on February 14. After conducting various tests and trials, the first 6-bogey metro train was inaugurated for public use on June 22.
FollowBengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has given the green signal to the second six-bogey metro train in Bengaluru. The Chief Minister inaugurated the same and travelled in metro from Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Metro Station today.
The Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) had handed over the second bogey with three compartments to Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The bogeys were attached to the current three-bogey trains and after trials, it has been approved for public use. Thus, the second 6-bogey train will travel in the dense Baiyappanahalli-Nayandalli route, which is also called the Purple Line, said Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation.

This train is also travelling on the Purple Line. So, there was a demand for six-bogey train in the Green Line (From Yelachenahalli to Nagasandra). But as there is mad rush in the Purple Line, the second train with six-bogeys was also allotted.
Six-bogey trains will be inaugurated for public use in the Green Line too. But as trials will have to take place and various tests have to be conducted, there will be a delay in getting this started at the Green Line.
