Kerala police have released Dileep's manager Appunni after six hours of questioning. Police questioned him along with his brother Shibu, who was Maju Warrier's driver before she got a divorce from Dileep.
The manager was asked about his role in conspiracy and tampering of evidence after actress attack. Appunni was questioned along with Vipin Lal, the jail inmate of Pulsar Suni. It was Vipin Lal who helped Suni write the letter to Dileep.
Though Appunni was released after questioning, officials said that he would be summoned again after verifying the details of his statement.
There are reports that the police received crucial evidence to prove Dileep's links with Pulsar Suni.
Appunni came to Aluva Police Club after High Court denied his anticipatory bail plea and ordered him to appear before officials for questioning. Following court direction, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) sent notice to the manager summoning him to appear before them for interrogation.
However, dramatic events unfolded at the police club after a lookalike of Appunni turned up on the premises at 10.40 am. The media persons, who were waiting for the manager, scurried to get his statement and asked whether he is Appunni, Dileep's manager. The man replied yes and hurried towards the door of the building, and then the real Appunni appeared in another car and strolled into the club.
It took some time for reporters to find out that the look alike was Appunni's brother Shibu.
