Actress' dead body found in locked flat under mysterious circumstances

FollowA 23-year old woman was found dead in her Andheri West apartment under mysterious circumstances. According to reports, Kritika Chaudhary, who was the resident of Bhairavnath SRA society was murdered four days ago.
Originally from Haridwar, Kritika had come to Mumbai to find her destiny in the film industry. A struggling actress, she did work in a few films like Kangana Ranaut-starrer Rajjo. She also worked as side actor in a few Balaji Entertainment TV serials.
On investigation, it was found that the door of her house was locked from outside. Inside, the body was found in a decomposed state and the room's AC was on. Investigating officers said, "The AC of the room was on so that smell could not come out soon. We believe she was murdered three to four days back, today foul smell started emitting. Her body was lying on the floor in the living room."
However, the residents complained of a foul smell emanating from her house and they informed the Amboli police. Speaking to The Hindu, police further added, "There were no indications of the victim having committed suicide. The house was in a disarray, which has led to the suspicion of murder. The only other possibility is that she might have committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance, but nothing to substantiate this was found near her body either. The body was too decomposed to find out if there were any external injuries or signs of strangulation. We are awaiting reports of the post-mortem examination so that we can find out the exact cause of death. The level of decomposition suggests that she had been dead for around three days.”
Meanwhile the body has been sent for postmortem to Cooper Hospital in Vile Parle. A search operation of the house has also been conducted. Police have registered an Accidental Death Report and will register an FIR of murder in case post-mortem results indicate that she was murdered. She was living in the building alone. Police has questioned her neighbours and is also scanning through the CCTV footage.
Her family has been informed about the incident and they are on their way.
