It seems the Olympics frenzy has caught on politicians across the spectrum. Especially since weightlifter Mirabai Chanu won the silver medal in the 48 kg event at the Tokyo Olympics.

So when wrestler Priya Malik won a gold medal, many among the political elite figured that India had won yet another medal and congratulated her.

However, Priya's medal did not come at the Tokyo Olympics but at the 2021 World Cadet Wrestling Championships in Hungary.

While Priya Malik's feat is no less worthy of a celebration, our politicians' haste to post without verification on social media is quite noticeable in this instance.
