Indian actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui for Serious Men and Vir Das for his show Vir Das: For India have been nominated at the International Emmy Awards 2021
FollowBollywood actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vir Das have bagged nominations for the 2021 International Emmy® Awards. Yes, it is a piece of good news for all movie lovers and Indians. The complete list was announced today by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
So, there are 44 Nominees across 11 categories and spanning a record number of 24 countries for the unknown. And our Nawazuddin has been nominated in the Best Actor category for Serious Men, Vir Das has landed a nomination in Comedy for his Netflix special Vir Das: For India.
“We are so proud of our Nominees and the record-breaking number of countries,” said International Academy President & CEO Bruce Paisner.
Talking about Netfilx's Serious Men, the show was a satirical comedy-drama featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Shweta Basu Prasad, Indira Tiwari and Aakshath Das. Sudhir Mishra directed the film. The film was based on the book of the same name 'Serious Me' by Manu Joseph. The movie was released last year during the Covid 19 lockdown.

Nawazuddin has previously been nominated for International Emmys for McMafia and Sacred Games in 2019. His show McMafia won the Best Drama award. Last year, Vir Das released his stand up special For India during Republic Day.
Vir Das's show was dedicated to the country, talking about a variety of topics. It was produced by Das’ production house Weirdass Comedy and have received praise and positive reviews worldwide.

Talking about the same Vir said he is honoured to be nominated. He also said that he is delighted to show Indian culture in his show.
