In contrast to Gali Janardhana Reddy's ridiculously lavish wedding of his daughter at Palace Grounds in Bengaluru, Kannada film industries star actors Radhika Pandit and Yash have decided to make their wedding as cost effective and Eco-friendly as possible.

Yash’s green initiative has caught the public eye as he has started distributing invitations to his marriage with Radhika Pandit along with champak flower (sampige) saplings.

Yash has already invited bigwigs from the filmdom including the Dr Rajkumar family, Upendra, Kumar Govind, Ananth Nag and others. He has also invited political leaders irrespective of political parties. Politicians DK Shivakumar, SM Krishna, DV Sadananda Gowda, Superstar Upendra and others were invited with saplings of Champak, recently.

This has won praises from many and Yash has proved again that he is for greenery and a clean the environment. The saplings are brought from Bhoomi nursery in Bengaluru outskirts.

Talking exclusively to Asianet Newsable , Yash said, he believes in simple wedding.

"This green idea is close to my heart. I love greenery and hence I am giving saplings of 'sampige' (champak) flower along with the invitation. Once it grows into a tree, flowers will blossom, spreading the fragrance," he said.

Speaking about his wedding, Yash said, "I wanted to get married in a temple in the presence of family members. But at the same time I respect emotions of parents from both the sides who wished for a grand wedding," he said.

Although he has agreed for a grand wedding at Palace Grounds, he has limited the guests between 5,000 and 10,000 for reception taking place in December. He has also asked team members from his trust 'Yashomarga' to distribute the surplus food to the needy.

"The surplus food during the marriage will be distributed among the needy through the trust. The guest will be served food on a plantain leaf. The green waste will be cleared for manure purpose," he said.

A wedding stage will be a temple set. As all this work and the wedding at Palace Grounds comes under luxury, Yash said he will pay the luxury tax as well.

Demonetisation effect on the wedding?

Yash who planned his wedding months in advance says, the ban on notes will not impact much as the cost of place and food will be cleared through direct transfer of amount into respective accounts. And for remaining small works, the contractors will be paid in cash and this will not be much of a problem.
