Former West Indies all-rounder Marlon Samuels charged under ICC Anti-corruption code
The ICC has given Marlon Samuels 14 days to respond to the charges against him on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board.

According to the ICC, Samuels was accused of violating four anti-corruption regulations linked to the T10 League in the UAE. The ICC has given Marlon Samuels 14 days to respond to the charges against him on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board.Â
In a statement, the ICC said, "Samuels has been charged under the Code with a violation of Article 2.4.2." The article details about failing to disclose to the Designated Anti-Corruption Official the receipt of any gift, payment, hospitality, or other benefits that was made or given in circumstances that could bring the Participant or the sport of cricket into disrepute.

The game's regulatory body accused the West Indian on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), the organiser of the four-season-old T10 League. According to the ICC, Samuels violated the Code's provisions 2.4.2, 2.4.3, 2.4.6, and 2.4.7.
Samuels, 40, has played 71 Tests, 207 One-Day Internationals, and 67 Twenty20 Internationals in his international career, scoring 11,134 runs and taking 152 wickets. In November 2020, he retired from international cricket. The most recent edition of the T10 league was held in Abu Dhabi in January and February of this year. Samuels participated in the event in 2019 as a member of the Karnataka Tuskers, which South African star Hashim Amla led.
