Social media posts can sometimes be boring as people update unwanted and trivial things, but this post by Humans of Bombay on Instagram is really worth noticing as an 87-year-old grandmother not just accepted her transgender daughter but also introduced her to the world.

In the video clip that is going viral, the grandmother flashes the real image of her granddaughter as a man on her mobile screen, and soon the video turns to a present-day woman. In the video, the grandma also mentions the granddaughter's name as Kali.

The grandmother was concerned after her granddaughter opened up about her femininity to her a year ago. Thinking that society would react negatively and make her granddaughter's life hell, she did not accept her immediately. But at the same time could not see her granddaughter suffer being trapped in a 'male body'.

As a first step towards embracing her, the granny in the video shows taking her jewelry and handing it over to her granddaughter as a symbol of 'acceptance' of her true identity.

As the video plays the captions pops the grand old lady as saying," If I can be 87 and accepting, I am sure so can you,"

And below the video, there is another caption that reads,“I'm 87 & I don't care about "log kya kahenge!" Let me introduce you to my granddaughter, Kali.”

The video is an appeal to those subjecting the third gender to the torture of parents of such children who are scared to reveal their identity fearing rejection.

The woman who is now on cloud nine as she has become the talk of the town was quoted by news media as saying "My grandmother was and is still the strongest support in my life. My grandmother wants our story to help every transgender person to gain acceptance from Their family. Hope this helps trans people everywhere”.
