Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif launched a scathing attack on Imran Khan and army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa, accusing them of pushing the country into deep turmoil. He accused Pakistan army chief of stifling the media, influencing judges, curbing the freedom of the Senate and bringing down his government.

Addressing a large protest gathering of opposition parties in the eastern Pakistani city of Gujranwala via video link from London, Nawaz said: "When India conducted 5 nuclear tests, we responded and conducted 6 tests. When they spoke about peace, we responded. Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee visited Pakistan. He visited Minar-e-Pakistan where he spoke highly of Pakistan. But things have changed. Today, Pakistan has lost global trust. Even our brotherly nation Saudi Arabia is furious with us and doesn't want to talk to us. Why? Because of Imran Khan."
