Scientists at MIT 'teach' spinach to send emails to help fight climate change

You've got mail, from spinach! Sounds bizarre, right? Plants sending out e-mails sounds like a concept from a science-fiction film set in the distant future.

Believe it or not, this feat has been achieved in 2021 as scientists at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) manage to engineer spinach plants that are capable of sending out emails to help fight climate change.
