Dr Michael J Ryan, the World Health Organisation's Executive Director of Emergencies Programme, explains how India can fight its way through the second wave of Coronavirus.
He said: "There is a huge amount of solidarity out there for India and everyone on the international side is trying their best to support the Indian government and Indian people. India, in general, has been very good in the past with regard to containing infectious diseases, particularly polio. India did a superb job. It did that with access to vaccine and access to good surveillance."
"India will get through this. India is a great nation with great people. But India is suffering right now. And if everyone in India really wants to help improve the situation, I would advise them to just reduce their risk of being exposed at this moment and avoid exposing themselves to others," he added
