New Vivo smartphone explodes in Bengaluru biker’s pocket

The motorist was heading back home with a pillion rider after he cast his vote in the Lok Sabha election on April 18 when his smartphone exploded in his pant pocket

Bengaluru: An incident has come to light where a new Vivo smartphone exploded in a two-wheeler rider’s trouser pocket while he was heading back home after casting his vote in the Lok Sabha election on April 18 on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

The injured man is identified as Gangadhar. He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Hoskote. The pillion rider managed to escape with minor bruises while the motorist's left leg has been severely injured. Gangadhar had bought the mobile phone on April 17 and the device exploded on the next day.

A case has been registered against the Vivo company director, distributors and Hoskote's Sangeetha mobile store under Nandagudi Police Station limits.
