PubliCity: Traffic offenders at Nandi Hills beware; police may force you to abandon your trip

With a high number of visitors heading towards Nandi Hills for a weekend break, and the probability of a tragedy as seen in the death of four visitors after an SUV toppled on the way to the hilltop recently, police have decided to crackdown on traffic offenders by imposing fines for riding without a helmet, riding triples on a bike and rash driving. Police may even stop riders from proceeding to the hilltop

In the backdrop of the death of four people who were killed after their SUV toppled while they were on their way to Nandi Hills, police in the area have intensified checking. There are a high number of bikers and drivers headed to the hilltop on weekends who break rules. Nandi Hills Police have decided to crack down on two-wheeler users for not wearing helmets and riding over capacity. Similarly, for four-wheelers, drivers without a seat belt will be penalised. In some cases, police say, if the vehicle users are repeat offenders, their vehicles are seized, and they are forced to abandon the trip to hill.
