Motorists to manage madness on Old Airport Road for longer; BBMP's signal-free corridor to take time
With no funds in its kitty, and the procedural delay in removing huge trees at HAL, where BBMP is working on an underpass, the ambitious signal-free corridor project which was slated to be completed in October will take a few more months.
Bengaluru: In what comes as a warning for officegoers and motorists, work on HAL underpass for the signal-free corridor will be delayed by a few more months.
According to a BBMP site engineer, land acquisition and shifting of utilities to begin work delayed the project initially. When the project is nearing its deadline of October, obtaining permission to remove trees will take more time delaying the project by a few months.
HAL employees and students and others who use this route complain that, due to delay in the project execution and dangerous driving by cabbies on the route, it has become risky to commute in the area.
