JDS leaders Revanna, Saravana pray for rain at Gavi Gangadhareshwara temple in Bengaluru

The Muzrai department of Karnataka government directed all temples coming under it to conduct 'Parjanya' prayers to appease rain Gods. JD(S) and Congress leaders are taking part in these prayers across Karnataka.

Bengaluru: PWD minister HD Revanna and Member of Legislative Party of the JD(S), T Saravana took part in prayers for rain at Gavi Gangadhareshwara temple in Bengaluru on Thursday. The Muzrai Department of Karnataka government had directed all temples coming under its purview to conduct 'Parjanya' - prayers to appease rain Gods as the state is reeling under acute water shortage, due to lack of rainfall. The government had fixed the date as June 6, to conduct special prayers in over 34,000 temples across the state. Each temple has been given Rs 10,001 as expenses for the puja.
