WhatsApp to be able to go into dark mode for Android

Dark mode is currently available only to the beta testers. Whatsapp expects to roll out the feature to everyone soon

California: WhatsApp is probably the most used app on a smartphone, and yet, it doesn’t provide any relief to your eyes during chats that run late into the night, but that is soon going to change with the introduction of a dedicated Dark Mode.

The Facebook-owned app will get the 'Dark Mode' feature that turns the interface into a dark theme to make it easy on the eyes. WhatsApp's native dark mode is simply called Dark in the theme selection interface, and it imparts a dark green profile to the messaging app's entire UI with some contrasting colours here and there.

As WABetaInfo notes, the feature is currently available on the WhatsApp version 2.20.13 Android beta. The feature is listed under Settings > Chats. You can choose from; Light theme, which is the default white theme, Dark theme, System default based on light or dark system-wide theme and set it according to battery Saver. Dark mode is currently available only to the beta testers as of now and is expected to be rolled out to everyone.
