Traditional bonhomie between India, Pakistan missing at Attari-Wagah Border on Republic Day 2020

The troops of India and Pakistan at Attari-Wagah border had exchanged sweets on the occasion of Eid-al-Fitr and on Republic Day last year. This year, the traditional bonhomie between the border guarding forces of India and Pakistan was missing.


Amritsar: Border Security Force (BSF) commandant Mukund Kumar Jha hoisted the national flag at the Attari-Wagah border, in Amritsar, Punjab on Republic Day. This year the traditional bonhomie between the border guarding forces of India and Pakistan was missing at the Attari-Wagah border on the nation’s 71st Republic Day as the Pakistan Rangers declined to receive sweets and exchange greetings with the Border Security Force (BSF). The troops of India and Pakistan at Attari-Wagah border had exchanged sweets on the occasion of Eid-al-Fitr and on Republic Day last year.

However, the military men exchanged sweets themselves.
