Abdul Wahab from Nagawara wrote letters to the BBMP and Bengaluru Police to ensure the old leaky umbrella-shapes police chowkis were replaced as it did not serve any purpose.
Going by this letter, the BBMP decided to install modern chowkis in various parts of the city. The new chowkis have a fan, first aid kit, modern seat section, a compartment to keep clothes and more importantly see-through glass to monitor signals
Due to COVID, the work on installing a few more chowkis is pending, says Wahab.
