Team Shaurya - Women patrol team to keep an eye on dangerous locations in Bengaluru

In what comes as morale booster for women cops in the department, police commissioner Bhaskar Rao and DCP Isha Pant launched 'Team Shaurya' a women-only patrol team.

In all, 25 members in bikes and four-wheelers will patrol Bengaluru’s South East Division including 8 dangerous zones where many instances of harassment have been reported

The team, which is also trained in mixed martial arts, is equipped to handle situations. The idea was to strike a balance between both men and women patrol teams as the DCP feels both women and men are equal in uniform.
