Bengaluru: As Bengaluru will join the rest of India to celebrate the 74th Independence Day on August 15, city police chief Kamal Pant says he has deployed 14,000 cops to maintain strict vigil on the special day. From civil police, KSRP special squad, CRPF, and other forces, Bengaluru city will be turned into a fortress for the next 24 hours starting from August 14 late evening.

Pant shared the security arrangements’ details with Asianet Newsable.

Amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, the invitees to the Manekshaw Parade Ground have been limited and in and around the ground, 700 police personnel will stand guard. With KRSP, the special force, over 1,500 be guarding for tomorrow's event.

This time the security arrangements for Independence Day will be a challenge as KG Halli and DJ Halli riots are still fresh in people’s minds?
