Karnataka rains: Forest and Fire department rescue 20 monkeys stranded in flood

Ballari(Karnataka): Following release of 50,000 cusecs of water from Tungabhadra dam, Ballari district's Hospete witnessed floods.
 
As water kept increasing and floods ran into fields and homes, 20 monkeys were struck in the foothills of Ipteri Wagni area.
 
Fire and Forest department officials managed to tie a rope across the water to two trees to rescue the monkeys.
 
Due to heavy currents, the rescue operation proved to be extremely tough.
