Karnataka: Gadag temples kept open during Solar Eclipse 2020

Most temples close doors during solar eclipse and are opened only after the celestial event comes to an end. But in Gadag, Trikuteshwara Temple and Sri Suryanarayana Temple doors were kept open for devotees

Gadag: Almost all Hindu temples across the country are closed on Sunday on the occasion of the Solar Eclipse 2020. Some temples are even closed until Monday morning. They will be opened after 2:30 pm and cleaning rituals like Suddhi, Punyaha Vachanam etc will be performed.
 
However, historical temples in Gadag – Trikuteshwara Temple and Sri Suryanarayana Temple were kept open for devotees to visit during the solar eclipse. The temples were filled with hymns and chants all throughout the celestial event period. The deities were offered abhishekam and pooja was performed only after the partial solar eclipse was witnessed in India till 1:30 pm.
