COVID-19: Police to arrest people found on streets of Mysuru; jail term 2 years

People in Mysuru have been warned to stay indoors and not venture out during this time of medical emergency. If they are found loitering on the streets, people can face a jail term of up to 2 years
 

Following the lockdown in 9 districts of Karnataka's due to the coronavirus outbreak, Mysuru SP CB Rishyanth has said that cases would be booked against any person roaming the streets till March 31.

The SP said, once arrested under section 270 of IPC, the person cannot even get bail given the situation.

The warning has come following the Karnataka government announcing a total shutdown in 9 districts due to the coronavirus outbreak in an attempt to curb the spread of the deadly virus.
