Andhra Pradesh Police praised for responding to pregnant woman's 100 call on train

The timely response of the Tadipatri Police in Andhra Pradesh is winning praises from all around the world.
 


Tirupati: A pregnant woman identified as Vara Lakshmi who dialled 100 for help was assisted by Tadipatri Police in Anantapur district on a moving train at the right time. Due to the intervention of police at the right time, the pregnant woman was able to reach hospital.

The pregnant woman had boarded the Sampark Kranthi Express at Kadapa along with her mother. The duo was on their way to Kurnool. Before the train reached the station, Vara Lakshmi developed labour pains. Her mother dialled 100 and sought police help.

Police, who attended the call immediately, rushed to the station with a gynaecologist and an ambulance. The woman was rushed to the hospital, and in three hours, she delivered a boy.
