608 potholes of Bengaluru: BBMP commissioner gives engineers 15-day deadline to fix up roads
After getting a hot bitumen mix plant ready in BBMP limits, the commissioner of the civic body has set a deadline of 15 days to zonal engineers to have the pothole issue fixed. He said he will take up weekly review meetings on road conditions.
With rains lashing the city and increase in potholes that has caused damage to life and properties in the past, BBMP commissioner N Manjunath Prasad has given the BBMP zonal engineers a 15-day deadline to fix the pothole issue.
The commissioner, mentioning that the BBMP’s dependency on contractors and agencies supplying hot bitumen mix to fix roads will end, said the civic body has come up with its own plant in a 4.5 acre land that can produce about 50 to 60 truckloads of material to fix potholes or asphalt the roads
To ensure the issues are addressed on time, the commissioner says, he will have a weekly review meeting.
