India's health system: COVID victim's body shifted on bike

As villagers fear contacting infection from Covid victim, they not only stayed away from burial but also raised objections to the burial in his own land.

The victim Mahadev, a vegetable vendor, was suffering from fever for the last few days and succumbed early this morning today.

As no one came to his family's rescue, Popular Front of India's volunteers arrived fully covered and then took the body on bike and disposed it as per protocol.

As no ambulance arrived, a ladder was placed on the bike and the body was placed.

As villagers did not allow the victim's family to bury Mahadev in his own land, the police arrived and showed grazing land. The volunteers buried as per Covid protocols.
