Unable to sell yield, Karnataka farmer ends life amid coronavirus lockdown

Kalaburagi: Prices of fruits are taking a hit due to the 21-day coronavirus lockdown. While coronavirus positive cases have surged over 1,300 with 40 deaths across the country, a farmer ended his life owing to dull business. The farmer who goes by the name Chandrakanth Biradar from Kalaburagi in Karnataka committed suicide after he was unable to sell his watermelon produce due to the coronavirus lockdown. However, while the state government is battling the coronavirus, Leader of Opposition (LoP) Siddaramaiah has taken a dig at the Yediyurappa-led government of Karnataka over the farmer suicide.
