Couple enters into wedlock at a temple amidst coronavirus lockdown

The families of a couple took the risk of conducting a wedding ceremony during COVID-19 only to ensure they do not miss the 'auspicious' time. However, they are said to have followed safety measures.

Puducherry: A couple in Puducherry tied the knot amidst total nationwide lockdown only to make sure they do not miss the auspicious time suggested by their astrologer.

The couple tied the knot wearing masks. Sengaluneer Amman temple was opened for a brief while for this wedding.

Only few relatives were present. Traditional practices like applying sandal paste, kumkum were replaced with masks and hand sanitisers. No gifts were given. Immediately after the wedding, the venue was vacated without even arranging food for guests.
