Leopard which terrorised villagers trapped in cage; relief for residents who lost livestock
Villagers in Hassan district can now breathe a sigh of relief as the forest department was able to trap a leopard that had been causing fear. The villagers of Shanthigrama and surrounding areas had complained that their livestock was being destroyed by the killer cat frequently.

There was a stir in the area after the finding of the elephant cub in the fishing net. Drunk tahsildar assaults lorry driver, uses expletives after ramming car against truck
A drunk tahsildar allegedly rammed his car against a lorry and then assaulted the lorry driver. The official tried to suppress the driver's voice by stating his official position. However, the villagers who gathered shamed him. When a group of media arrived, the official tried to escape from the scene. He, however, agreed to his mistake and said he hit the driver in the heat of the moment.
The victim said he was slapped and attacked on the face and was bleeding from the nose. He allegedly washed his face and appeared before the media to speak and showed the blue marks on his face following the attack.
