    Jangalmahal becoming threat to Mamata Banerjee government before Assembly elections

    Jangalmahal played a major role in the transformation of the state. But it is alleged that the government has not kept any word in the past 10 years. Therefore, the villagers who lost their close ones due to the Maoist movement in Jangalmahal have decided to go into conflict with the state government. Political parties think that this will increase the discomfort of Mamata Banerjee before the 2021 Assembly elections.

    Leopard which terrorised villagers trapped in cage; relief for residents who lost livestock

    Villagers in Hassan district can now breathe a sigh of relief as the forest department was able to trap a leopard that had been causing fear. The villagers of Shanthigrama and surrounding areas had complained that their livestock was being destroyed by the killer cat frequently.

    The leopard would get inside the shed and kill sheep and cows. Now that the leopard has been caught, the villagers’ fears are put to rest. The animal will be released back into the wild

    West Bengal: Carcass of elephant cub rescued by villagers from fishing net

    The carcass of an elephant cub was caught in a fishing net. While crossing the Tiasa river, the cub fell into the river. There was a stir in the area after the finding of the elephant cub in the fishing net. According to reports, there has been a herd of about 30 elephants spotted in several villages including Dharampur and Kadamdiha near Goaltore forest for several days.

    Drunk tahsildar assaults lorry driver, uses expletives after ramming car against truck

    A drunk tahsildar allegedly rammed his car against a lorry and then assaulted the lorry driver. The official tried to suppress the driver's voice by stating his official position. However, the villagers who gathered shamed him. When a group of media arrived, the official tried to escape from the scene. He, however, agreed to his mistake and said he hit the driver in the heat of the moment.

     

    The victim said he was slapped and attacked on the face and was bleeding from the nose. He allegedly washed his face and appeared before the media to speak and showed the blue marks on his face following the attack.

    West Bengal: Gharial rescued from river by villagers of Raiganj

    People in Raiganj of North Dinajpur were excited after rescuing a gharial from a river.  Crowds of enthusiastic people flocked to the area as soon as they heard the news. The locals handed over the gharial to the forest department.

    Mob justice seems to be an appropriate response for crime in Petlawad village Madhya Pradesh.  A 26-year-old youth who dragged a minor to a secluded place and molested her was caught and beaten up. Villagers tonsured his head, garlanded him with old shoes and slippers before being parading him on the streets of the village.
