Mines to Sacred Isles: Here are the 21 new World Heritage sites
The UNESCO 'World Heritage' designation, which recognises the exceptional universal values of a site, is meant to draw proper consideration to them and the need to protect them.
Among the other new places on the UNESCO list are the subterranean mines in Tarnowskie Gory in Poland, Ahmedabad city of India, the historic city of Yazd in Iran, Japan's sacred and the limited-access Isle of Okinoshima and Los Alerces National Park in Argentina.

Los Glaciares National Park, on 11th May 1937 was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. It is a natural reserve permafrost located on the Patagonian ice shield in the Andes, where there are 47 large glaciers, of which 13 descend to the Atlantic ocean. In the Park, there are lakes, mountains, scenic hiking trails and distinct wildlife.
Such a sight is striking at first glance, even if you look at the pictures. After all, the beauty of the glaciers, the age of which reaches tens of thousands of years, incomprehensible, enigmatic and unique.
