TN farmers temporarily call off Jantar Mantar agitation
Tamil Nadu farmers protesting at Jantar Mantar have"temporarily" called off their agitation on Sunday (April 23) after over 40 days following Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami’s "promise" to meet their demands.

This is the sad state of Tamil Nadu farmers, whose woes are not heard by the Centre. Is the Prime Minister ignoring the Tamil Nadu farmers as against the ones in the Uttar Pradesh?
The farmers of Tamil Nadu have been demanding a loan waiver, release of drought relief fund and release of Cauvery water from Karnataka. They are staging protest in all possible ways at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi from a month.
They even tried to meet the PM, but all in vain. Thus here are 10 pictures which show the sand plight of Tamil Nadu farmers.

Farmers' suicide: Widows living with debts, drought and loss of lives
Most of the indebted farmers commit suicide believing that the debt will cease to exist if they end their lives. However, the lenders haunt the family - mostly the widows seeking their share from the ‘compensations’ they receive from government and other organisations.

In pics: Tamil Nadu farmers wear saree while protesting in Jantar Mantar
It has been more than a month since farmers from Tamil Nadu have been protesting in Jantar Mantar, New Delhi. The farmers are demanding waiver of their agricultural loans and drought relief from the centre.
Though, the protest have found support from many including the students of IIT Madras who went on a two-day hunger strike to show solidarity with the farmers yet the centre seem to be oblivion to their plight.
From carrying skulls to biting snakes to going naked, the farmers have done whatever it requires to draw the attention of the central government but have failed. On Friday, April 14, the farmers wore sarees while protesting at the Jantar Mantar.
