Swachh Bharat Mission  

The ‘plastic shramdaan’ campaign was part of the district-wide Swachh Bharat Mission. During the campaign, the collector joined hands with the public and removed plastic waste in the pilgrim centre Ramanathapuram, Rameshwaram

As per this guideline, transgender people should be permitted to use community or public toilets as per their choice.

Ahead of the landmark proclamation, the villagers underwent a weeklong training under the aegis of Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), an NGO, in the cashless money transaction and digital literacy

PM Narendra Modi had nominated 27 prominent personalities including Amitabh Bachchan, Ramdev, Sachin Tendulkar and Anil Ambani for promoting his pet programme Swachh Bharat Mission launched in 2014

In addition to that, the government informed that there are more than 57,489 ongoing schemes in different states to provide drinking water to the rural population

The data was released by Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister Narendra Singh Tomar during Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha today
