DC Mayor Muriel Bowser announced she is extending the public emergency to 15 days, as a result of rioters overtaking the US Capitol building earlier today.

In a latest development in the Bengaluru riots case, the CCB now claims that ex-Mayor Sampath Raj's mobile call details reveal that he was in touch with the rioters.

Padarayanpura rioters of Bengaluru were housed at Ramanagara jail in Karnataka, some rested positive for coronavirus. Now, hundreds in the district gathered to celebrate a festival and performed rituals amid coronavirus scare without wearing a masks or exercising social distancing.

Fearing they might be infected, and after seeing their unruly behaviour in attacking those who came forward to help them, Rayapuram wards residents and corporator have refused host of Padarayanpura residents for COVID-19 tests. The corporator has raised the matter with the BBMP commissioner.
