In continuation of their agitation against Central government's controversial farm laws, now Karnataka farmers have threatened to launch tractor rally in Bengaluru on Republic Day.

According to sources, police officers tried to convince the protesting farm unions to hold their tractor rally on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway instead of the Outer Ring Road, but in vain.

Shiva Sena attempts to disrupt peace in Belagavi after it's leaders openly threatened to hoist the saffron flag in Belagavi municipality which belongs to Karnataka.

Earlier Kannada activists had pitched to install a pole before Belagavi Mahanagara Palike and were set to hoist Karnataka flag.

Soon Maharashtra Ekikaran Samithi (MES) which always makes controversial statements of this part belonging to Maharashtra and not Karnataka, staged a protest. But now it seems Shiv Sena has stated to lay claim to Belagavi.

Party leader Vijay Dawne along with supporters shouted slogans and said they will take a rally, enter Karnataka through Kolhapur and hoist saffron flag in Belagavi Municipality.

The provocative "desh ke gaddaron ko, goli maaro" slogan was raised at a rally led by BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari in Chandannagar on Wednesday (January 20).

Congress roadshow throws traffic out of gear in Bengaluru

The Supreme Court on Wednesday (January 20) refused to pass orders on the proposed tractor rally by farmers on Republic Day in New Delhi, saying the matter should be decided by Delhi Police.

While addressing a rally in Purulia district, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee compared the BJP to a cobra and said that the party is more venomous than the Cobra and it can kill you with only one bite.

If the 2021 assembly election is the final test, then Mamata Banerjee’s meeting in Nandigram on Monday (January 18) was the selection test. Mamata Banerjee held a rally in West Bengal's Nandigram and said that she will contest elections from Suvendu Adhikari's stronghold Nandigram.
 

On Monday (January 18), several meetings will be held in West Bengal. Mamata Banerjee will hold a mass meeting at Nandigram in absence of Adhikari family. On the other hand, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari will hold a public meeting in South Kolkata today. 
 

The top court would also hear today a plea of the central government, filed though the Delhi Police, seeking an injunction against the proposed tractor march or any other kind of protest by farmers "which seeks to disrupt the gathering and celebrations" of Republic Day on January 26.

The Delhi Police has moved the Supreme Court seeking to block the proposed tractor rally planned by farmers' unions on January 26 to disrupt the Republic Day parade.

An assistance booth set up for Bharatiya Janata Party leader Suvendu Adhikari at Nandigram in East Midnapore district was ransacked on Saturday (January 9). The BJP held a silent procession on Monday in protest of the incident. BJP leader Shuvendu Adhikari took part in the procession.

BJP is going to take to the streets again with Sovan Chatterjee and Baishakhi Banerjee. Last week, the BJP organized a bike rally from Orphan Gunj Road off Mominpur to the party's state headquarters on Murali Dhan Sen Lane in Central Kolkata. however, Sovan Chatterjee and Baisakhi Banerjee refused to join the rally.
 

The CPI(M) and the Congress on Thursday (January 7) decided to organise a mega joint rally at the Brigade Parade ground in Kolkata.
