The buzz in New Delhi is that now Tamil Nadu chief minister and leader of the AIADMK Sasikala faction Edapati Palanisamy has set up a  meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. The development has come merely days after O Panneerselvam met PM Modi.

Edappadi K Palanisamy won the floor test at the Tamil Nadu assembly to become the Chief Minister of the state. Soon after people of Tamil Nadu started sharing their opinion on Twitter about the recent political development in the state. 

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami will seek a vote of confidence in the Assembly on Saturday, the first such floor test the state will witness in about 30 years. The DMK has decided to vote against the floor test.

It looks like Palanisamy can get the support of MLAs to form the government, but it will be difficult for him to get people’s support. People of his home district, especially 80 percent of the AIADMK members in Salem have already started working against the new chief minister of Tamil Nadu.

E Madhusudhanan, the praesidium chairman of AIADMK, who was sacked by Sasikala last week has now expelled Sasikala, TTV Dinakaran and Dr Venkatesh. Tamil Nadu politics is as confusing as this statement.

Within minutes of Edappadi Palanisamy’s swearing in as the Chief Minister, violent protests broke out in Chennai after the supporters of the new chief minister clashed with O Panneerselvam’s supporters outside his residence.

Sasikala is cooling her heels in jail but expressing their solidarity with Chinnamma are her supporters who have now camped in and around the Parappana Agrahara, leading to a spike in business for hotels and  service apartments near Electronic City
