The global crackdown on Chinese mobile applications has now seen the United States follow India's footsteps in "addressing the threat posed by applications and other software developed or controlled by Chinese companies".

WhatsApp has received some new updates, which include enhanced wallpapers and a new animated sticker pack with a search feature for stickers. 

The violations were reportedly spotted by non-profit watchdog alerted Google about the violations by these apps. 

The Information and Technology Ministry today banned the hugely popular gaming app PUBG Mobile and 117 other Chinese-linked mobile applications. In a statement, the government said it blocked 118 mobile apps that are “prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, Defence of India, Security of State and Public Order”.
