Cyclone Burevi continued to hover over the Gulf of Mannar near the Ramanathan district coast on Saturday, remaining 'practically stationary' for the last 30 hours, the India Meteorological Department reported.
 

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts of Kerala for December 3. There is a red alert for four districts of Tamil Nadu too.
 

An early morning nip in the air brought the feel of early winter on Wednesday (November 25) as the minimum temperature in Kolkata dropped to 15.4 degrees Celsius. According to the meteorological department, the temperature in the city will further drop in the next 24 hours. The temperature will rise again from Friday (November 27).

People of Kolkata got to feel the winter chill on Monday (November 23) morning as the temperature dropped to 15.5 degrees Celsius. The temperature has been steadily dropping over the past 48 hours. According to weather reports, a new depression may form in the Bay of Bengal. The situation will change from Sunday (September 13). Cyclone alert has been issued on the river Ganges in West Bengal. Chances of heavy rain in North Bengal and South Bengal are predicted.

With two back-to-back low-pressure systems forming over the Bay of Bengal, the India Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in the districts of south Bengal, including Kolkata, over the next one week.
