While Bengaluru is excited about the company's plans to start assembling in the industrial hub Peenya in April and begin manufacturing later this year. It's been a flip-flop, depending upon Apple's demands and getting a nod from the government.

While it is known that Apple executives and the govt officials are in talks for sometime now for assembling and eventually manufacturing iPhones in India, Narendra Modi's official app has almost confirmed that Apple iPhone production will commence soon. This doesn't come as a surprise as the Karnataka government had also issued a release welcoming Apple. However, does that mean Apple has got its way with the demands? So, far it seemed quite likely that Apple has got its way. However, the new reports suggest that GST could pose a roadblock.
