PubliCity: BBMP takes up projects during monsoon in Bengaluru; waste of taxpayers’ money, say activists
The Rs 80 crore worth projects in Koramangala ward have started at a time when monsoon will be at its peak in Bengaluru. Any work like asphalting of roads, concrete work, desilting drains and lakes will end up in waste of money. According to BBMP corporator, it will take six months to complete the projects

Karnataka high court questions BBMP: Where did 15 lakes go?
A Karnataka high court order issued on December 1, 2014, stated that 183 lakes in the city are under the control of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike. This was recorded by a division bench headed by Abhay Shreeniwas Oka. But the civic body’s latest statement said that it has 168 lakes under its possession.

Bengaluru lakes: Justice Santosh Hegde to write to NGT over BWSSB's blunder
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) constituted a committee to monitor the development of lakes. Now, the committee is left in deep shock by the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewage Board (BWSSB) as it has built sewage treatment Plant without the provision to let the treated water into lakes. The committee headed by former Lokayukta Santosh Hegde visited Agra Lake and made this observation. He says he will send the report to NGT for further action.
