In order to counter Chinese deployment along the Line of Actual Control, the Indian Army has made some changes on the northern borders after the troops of two countries engaged into border standoff in eastern Ladakh. Anish Singh reports

Amid ongoing border standoff with China in eastern Ladakh, Indian Army chief Gen MM Naravane on Tuesday said that intense cooperation between China and Pakistan formed a 'potent threat', but the Army is prepared to deal with any eventualities. Anish Singh reports.

Tensions soared in June, after troops clashed in hand-to-hand combat in the Galwan valley in Ladakh, abutting the Chinese-held Tibetan plateau.

 The minister spoke about the June 15 Galwan Valley incident and said “it is not surprising that something went horribly wrong” when soldiers are so close to each other on the border.

Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant believes that India has 'too much of democracy' that makes it difficult to carry out tough reforms needed to make the country more competitive.

The rice imports come despite political tensions over a border dispute in the Himalayas which erupted into a clash in June in which 20 Indian soldiers were killed.

China provoked the deadly Galwan Valley clash on Line of Actual Control -- the first such standoff in nearly half a century, a report submitted to the US Congress. The report also goes on to note how the world has been awakened to the ambitions and tactics of the Chinese Communist Party. Calling out the fake news, the Indian Army said: "Some international news portals have published misleading headlines and reported baseless claims related to India-China border stand-off in Ladakh. This is fake news. No such incident has taken place."
 

MEA also confirmed that India will host the next session of the BRICS summit in 2021.

Seeking to send a loud message to China, India is set to conduct a series of tests on the BrahMos cruise missile in the Indian Ocean region towards the end of the month.

Asked about the current military standoff with China in eastern Ladakh, Deswal said "strains in bilateral relations are already evident but we are confident these will be sorted out peacefully very shortly."

"The two sides are likely to disengage from some of the friction points in next few days and they have been discussing the modalities for doing so in a phased manner," defence sources told ANI
 

The eighth round of Corps Commander-level talks between India and China at Chushul-Moldo in eastern Ladakh lasted 10 hours.

He said that border confrontations and unprovoked military actions spiralling into larger conflict can't be discounted.
