Delhi Capitals came up with their best-ever season performance since they have finished as the runners-up of the tournament for the first time. They had previously concluded second in the points table, next to table-toppers and eventual champions Mumbai Indians.

Delhi Capitals played their first-ever final in the Indian Premier League, as they succumbed to the pressure and lost it. DC continue to be one of the three sides in the tournament to have never won the title to date. They have been playing the competition since 2008.

Defending champions Mumbai Indians are the only team to have qualified for the playoffs so far, while former champions Chennai Super Kings are the only ones to be knocked out. Depending on the match results on Saturday, there could be a couple of more teams, who can qualify.

This was Delhi Capitals' fifth win of the tournament in six matches, as they rise to the top spot of the table. They are still in the hunt for their maiden Indian Premier League title. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals are down at the seventh spot, following their fourth loss in the same number of games.

Rajasthan Royals won the Indan Premier League during the inaugural edition, in 2008. Currently, they are placed in the seventh spot. Delhi Capitals are yet to win the title to date, as they are placed in the second spot, having lost just a game so far, in five matches.

The second match of the IPL 2020 erupted with a lot of criticism. The DC vs KXIP match at the Dubai International Stadium was wrongly judged with a ‘short-run’, leading to the Super Over, and eventually Delhi Capital’s win.
