Karnataka government on Monday immersed 1,200 unclaimed bodies' ashes at Srirangapatna some 150 kms away from Bengaluru. After puja and symbolically offering 'pinda', revenue minister R Ashoka said that those dead were not orphans but were part of the state and hence they are also family.

Tanveer Ahmed, a resident of Frazer Town, has since the wake of the pandemic ignored the stigma associated with the novel coronavirus and isolated himself from his family to help COVID-19 patients and their kin. Here's his story.
