Launching the 'Tika Utsav', Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the initiative beginning of another major war against Coronavirus where special emphasis must be given to both personal and social hygiene.

In all, 492 severe and serious AEFI have been classified by the AEFI Secretariat of the Immunisation Technical Support Unit (ITSU) at the Health Ministry. Classification has been completed for 124 deaths, 305 serious events that required hospitalisation, and 63 severe events that did not require hospitalisation.

Karnataka will have online registration mandated for Day 1 from 9 am in all cities across the state while walk-in registration and vaccination will be allowed in rural areas, according to the state health department.
 

"India is third globally, after the US and the UK, in highest cumulative vaccination numbers," the Union health ministry said on Thursday.
