Contempt Proceedings  

Attorney General KK Venugopal has granted consent to initiate contempt proceedings against satirist Kunal Kamra for obscene and derogatory comments against Chief Justice of India Sharad Arvind Bobde.

AG KK Venugopal gave consent to 8 persons to initiate contempt of court proceedings against Kamra for his 'objectionable' tweets on SC order granting bail to Arnab Goswami.

Ramesh Pokhriyal had challenged the Uttarakhand high court order that asked former chief ministers of the state to pay rent at market rates for the government bungalows they occupy.

 Actor Suriya had taken to social media and slammed the courts over the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
