Bengaluru Violence: No CBI investigation; will teach SDPI and PFI a lesson, says Karnataka deputy CM
Karnataka deputy CM CN Ashwathnarayana who was on a visit to Mandya said that the Central Crime Branch Police will continue to investigate the Bengaluru Violence case and that there is no question of transferring the case to the CBI in response to a demand made by victim MLA Akhanda Srinivasmurthy.
The deputy CM blamed the SDPI and Congress's power struggle in minority-dominated pockets as a reason for the arson and vandalism.
He accused the SDPI and PFI of targeted killings and recalled the incident of an attack on Congress MLA Tanveer Sait and several other alleged killings by the mentioned organisations. He said the Congress government cleared their cases, but now the BJP government will teach them a lesson.

Bengaluru violence: 80 accused persons shifted to Ballari jail
Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Police shifted the 80 arrested persons in connection with Bengaluru violence to Ballari jail following 15 days of judicial custody.
The accused were taken to Ballari in the night to avoid any further violence. The accused were taken in KSRTC buses.
On Wednesday morning (August 12), police arrested about 150 people and 80 were remanded in judicial custody. All the accused persons were produced before a magistrate via video conference.
Bengaluru’s KG Halli, DJ Halli and Kaval Byrasandra saw riots after Congress MLA Akhanda Srinivas Murthy’s nephew P Naveen posted a derogatory social media post. The MLA’s house was vandalised and burnt down. Also, a police station was vandalised. Many including police personnel were injured in the violence on Tuesday evening (August 11).

Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Police on Wednesday night (August 12) visited Congress MLA Akhanda Srinivas Murthy’s house which was vandalised and set on fire by a mob. The police could still see smoke emanating from the house. Once a well-lit house with guests lined up wore a deserted look. Police also visited the affected places and did a mahazar of burnt vehicles and properties in the area. A mob attacked the MLA’s house on Tuesday evening (August 11) after his nephew had posted a derogatory comment on Facebook. KG Halli, DJ Halli and Kaval Byrasandra witnessed riots in which three people died and many including police personnel were injured. The mob caused damage to public property and also vandalised a police station.
